During this project, I've learned how to shoot the above pictures by learning what type of shutter speeds you need to have in order to achieve shooting the pictures. I had success with shooting frozen, blurred, writing with light, zooming, and chrono. However, I had some troubles with shooting panning. I would recommend that when shooting panning that you make sure you keep your focus on one certain spot of the subject. This will help you to achieve panning.

Motion Shooting Assignment

I had a lot of success with shooting this assignment. However, I had some difficulties as well. I had success in shooting frozen motion, blurred motion, chrono, zooming and writing with light. The one that had difficulties with was panning. After a couple of times of trying, I finally got it down.

Motion- In Class

Blurred Motion:

The camera was placed on a tripod to keep it steady. Then the shutter speed was put low. The subjects then walked by. Because of the shutter speed being low the subjects became blurry making the picture interesting.
ISO- 100
Shutter Speed- 1/8
F/Stop- 3.5

Panning:

First I metered where the tennis ball would roll. I then focused on part of the ball. After that I had someone roll the ball and as it rolled past I followed.
ISO- 1600
Shutter Speed- 1/40
F/Stop- 20

Frozen:

First I focused on my subject. Then I set my shutter speed to 1/160 because I knew that in order to freeze motion you have to have a shutter speed of 1/160 or higher. Once done with that I had my subject jump into the air while I took the shot.
ISO- 1600
Shutter Speed- 1/160
F/Stop- 4.5

Zooming:

First I focused on the subject. I then changed my shutter speed to 2.0 so that I had a slow enough shutter speed to zoom the lens in or out while the camera was taking the shot. After that I pressed the shutter button and zoomed the lens out.
ISO- 100
Shutter Speed- 2.0
F/Stop- 18

Chrono:

The camera was set up on a tripod in order to keep the camera from moving. The subject then moved to different places on the step. Once edited these pictures will be put on one background to make it look like interesting.
ISO- 100
Shutter Speed- 1/3
