He also puts most of the focus on it by using aperture. The middle ground consist of the soldier, rows of tombstones, and part of a tree branch. The background is the sky and a tree. Mahurin uses the tree and part of a tree branch as framing devices to help the audiences' eyes move smoothly around the photo. The photo is also kind of dark. This is because it shows the darkened state that the soldier is in because he has lost friends.
